Age of onset of flea bite allergies?Take about one year to develop AB
Response and lesions?Usually on the flank region. Get miliary lesions. Not much on the feet.
Season for flea bite allergies?Spring and summer. Survive on wild animals in the winter but not much of a problem
Classical lseions?Miliary on caudal 1/3!
Diff dx with flea bite allergies?Atopy, food allergies, scabies, dermatophye, bacterial pyoderma
DX???Based on clinical findings and history. Can do a fecal and see fleas floating in it. The ones the dog/cat ate.
Where do flea fuckers live?They live in shade and dark places. In your carrrrrrpet!
How to control fleas? stop being cheap as fuck and call an exterminator
how to tx flea allergies?Treat the secondary bacterial infections if any first. Then you can start thinking steroids. Obviously rid of fleas lol
Tx for fleas in cats?Methylprednisolone(oral and best for cat) or dep medrrol (injectable so prefer not)

Pyrethrins? MOA? Spectrum? Usage?Prolongs NA conductance in fleas. Kills rather quickly. Special usage is you can put it on a towel and wrap puppies and kittens in it to kill fleas. Comb after
PERMethrins?Same MOA and spectrum as pyrethrins but kill slower. UV stable and also kills ticks VERY WELL.
If intoxication occurs with PERmethrins?Use IV lipids in the same way you'd treat ivermectin toxicity
Cholinesterase inhibitors? (organophosphates)VERY TOXIC TO CATS.
Fipronil? FRONTLINE for cats and dogsInhibits GABA mediated CL influx. Blocks glutamate gated cl channels. Fleas, flea eggs and ticks.

SelamectinREVOLUTION. Prevents heart worm. Great for cats. Works off label for scabies. Revolution kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations. Revolution also is indicated for the treatment and control of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei) and for the control of tick infestations due to Dermacentor variabilis.
Dinotefuran Vectra 3D Permethrin and pyriproxyfen Dogs older than 7 weeks. Kills fleas, repels ticks
indoxicarb +/- permethrinActivyl. Bioactivated by the flea gut enzymes. Changes indoxicarb into an insecticide. Use for 8 weeks and use low volume.

NitenpyramWORKS well but only for a short period of time only 24 hours so used in clinics for quick effects
Spinosad only works for about 14 days although it says 21. Loses its power so another preventative must be given at day 14 to coincide.Might vomit but if after an hour then don't need to redose. NEVER GIVE WITH IVERMECTIN IT WILL KILL THE ANIMALS. Can give with heartguard which has ivermectin but an extremely small dose. Older than 3 month dog and cats
