| Fluid Intelligence | The ability to reason, which begins to decline from middle adulthood according to Horn |
| Divergent Thinking | Thinking that produces many answers to one question; characteristic of creativity |
| Convergent Thinking | Thinking that produces one correct answer; characteristic of the kind of thinking required for conventional intelligence tests. |
| Bias | An opinion based on a strong preference. This preference can be negative. |
| Prejudice | Judgement prior to aquiring relevant information and contrary to existing information |
| Stereotyping | A generalization about a group that does not allow for individual difference |
