Glyoxylate Cycle of Plants and Bacteria

Same as the Citric Acid Cycle except for reactions catalyzed by Isocitrate Lyase* and Malate Synthase*.

Reaction	Enzyme
Oxaloacetate + Acetyl CoA + H2O -> Citrate + CoA	Citrate Synthase
Citrate -> Isocitrate	Aconitase
Isocitrate -> Glyoxylate + Succinate	Isocitrate Lyase*
Glyoxylate + Acetyl CoA + H2O -> Malate + CoA	Malate Synthase*
Malate + NAD+ -> Oxaloacetate + NADH + H+	Malate Dehydrogenase
